These limitations explain why unresolved cases should not automatically be placed into either “ordinary explanation” or “extraordinary explanation” categories. Often, the correct scientific conclusion is simply that the evidence is insufficient.
The role of sensors and human perception
NASA’s findings also reflect a broader challenge in analysing unusual sightings: every observation is filtered through technology and human interpretation.
